While
I often feel that I am racing against the clock or ’time-starved’,
I also know that I enjoy the challenge of successfully balancing family
life and my career. In the hopes of one day perfecting
this balancing act, I am constantly seeking out ways that
can assist with the fine tuning of being a working mom.
We thought we would focus on ways that technology can
assist working moms. There are so many ways to utilize
technology in order to stay in touch with kids, the office and to
assist with organizing busy schedules. So we thought
over the coming months we would focus on different gadgets
and services that can help a working mom get the job done.
Wikipedia defines smartphones
as: A smartphone or
sphone is any electronic handheld device that integrates the
functionality of a mobile phone, personal digital assistant (PDA) or
other information appliance.
 Probably
the most familar smartphone is the Blackberry from
Research In Motion
which allows us access to computer capabilities in a
handset, which equates to ‘on the go’. Great for
a busy mom who needs to leave the office for school pick
up but still wants to stay connected to email and calls
from the office. There is also the Palm
Treo and Samsung has recently
launched a new device called the Blackjack.
 As
with smartphones there are many PDAs. These products
can be very useful as they are electronic organizers
that enable you to have your agenda and contact information
with you every where you go.

Moms Use of Technology
Products Up Sharply; 85% of Mothers Use Cellphones, MetaFacts
study reports. “The cellphone is the most popular
technology product for moms, but not the only popular
one,” said MetaFacts
Principal Analyst Dan Ness. “In their homes, most moms
also have a home PC (71.2%), a workplace computer user
(57.1%), a videogame console (50.5%) such as a  Microsoft
Xbox, Nintendo Gamecube, Sony Playstation, or Sega Dreamcast,
or a digital camera (42.6%).”

you can read about electronic and other products suited

 Did you know you can add
a webcam to any room in your house and be able to see
live video of your child from any computer or your cellphone.
Many options exist, one of them while not the cheapest
is from DLink.
