MSNBC recently provided tips for travelling with your teenager, we've summarized them here for you;
- Ask for input.
Having your teen help in the planning stages will make them more involved and enjoy the vacation more. - Choose your destination wisely.
If your teen wants different activites while on vacation than you do, think about ways you can combine both your interests (on a cruise or at a ski resort with other activities in town). - Find a great hotel.
Don't scrimp on the hotel – the nearby attractions of a better one will keep your teen more occupied and you'll save money on transportation. - Bring a friend.
If you aren't travelling with another family consider allowing your child to bring a friend. - Let your teen choose the activity.
Even if it doesn't seem worthwhile to you to have come all that way only to do something that could have been done at home – let your teen do it. That will make the holiday more enjoyable for them and consequently you as well. - Set a budget.
Set a budget for him and let him keep any money leftover. You may be surprised by how much less junk gets bought. - Give them space.
Get joining or adjacent hotel rooms or if in a guesthouse, make sure they have their own room. Teens love their privacy and may behave more like adults if they feel like one. - Let your teen sleep.
Their ideal vacation may just be to sleep in. Let them – and while they are you can get out in the morning to do the things only you want to do – at your own pace.
