We are pleased to be able to feature RBC on the Progressive Employers of Canada list.

Connect Moms, momcafe and Martin Group International provided the below criteria as a guideline for possible programs or initiatives that may exist at RBC.

Please describe any programs or initiatives that support the needs of working moms at RBC.

Personal/life balance, coaching and wellness;

Employees and their dependents have access to a number of health and wellness initiatives including our RBC Employee Care program, which provides 24 hour a day access to information and confidential consultation on a wide range of work/life issues, or health and wellness related topics via telephone, e-mail, and online.

Child & Dependant Care:

Our RBC Employee Care Program, offers combined employee assistance and work/life support services, with up-to-date, expert information and support, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – to help employees deal with various life issues such as parenting and quality child care, resources for seniors – eldercare, disability and accessibility. Professional consultants provide confidential, personalized telephone consultations, individualized searches as well as referrals and educational materials.

Competitive Compensation:

At RBC, we reward our employees for a job well done.

RBC provides competitively positioned total compensation opportunities (including base salary, annual bonus and, at more senior levels of RBC, long-term incentives) that attract, retain and motivate individuals who have the key skills, capabilities and commitment needed to achieve RBC’s objectives. Our performance incentive programs reward and recognizes employees for their results, with greater contributions earning greater rewards.

Our long-term savings accumulation opportunities through RBC share ownership plans and retirement savings plans offer choices to suit individual preferences. RBC’s compensation programs help make sure employees have a clear picture of what success in their job looks like, and rewards them for achieving those results.

Flex-time/Job Sharing/Part-time/Casual positions;

RBC understands and believes that flexibility is the cornerstone for working effectively. That’s why we offer resources and tools to create a work/life balance. Options include flex-time arrangements such as reduced hours, job sharing or modified work weeks. Depending on the role, options include working from home or a satellite office. We provide ongoing professional development and career opportunities to those employees who choose to pursue flexible work options.

Gradual re-entry after maternity leave;

No formal policy. However, we are open to explore accommodation based on some individual circumstances.

Lactation Rooms:

RBC doesn’t currently have any designated lactation rooms, however we have a number of offices and meeting rooms which could be reserved for this purpose, although we haven’t had a request for space for this reason.

Maternity and parental leave top-up;

Under our RBC Maternity Supplementary plan, employees may be eligible for up to six weeks.

Health Benefits:
RBC offers employees access to a broad range of competitive benefits to meet their needs today and in the future. Choice and flexibility mean the control is in their hands to select the benefits that are right for them. Our flexible benefits program is comprised of two components – core company-paid benefits and optional benefits. We provide flexibility so that employees may choose as much or as little coverage as they need. This includes medical; prescription drug; dental; life and accident insurance; and short-term and long-term income protection.
