Personal/Life Balance:
At Nannies on Call we encourage personal/life balance. If you are in need of a personal health day or want to head to the gym between appointments, this is encouraged. Once a year on birthdays, the staff is given a “spa afternoon” at the expense of the company.

Access to Emergency Childcare:
Seeing as though this is our business, Nannies on Call has excellent access to emergency childcare through our on call services. This allow those pesky sick days from their usual childcare providers to be rectified before even leaving the house. It is great to know that if our staff members are in a bind, they can call up (or walk up to) one of our bookings agents and ask who is available for the day, have them out to the house and be in work at their regular time. This allows for hiccups to happen but not be phased by it.

Flex time:
Staff members that work 4 days a week have the option of working more hours in a day and/or can take time off to accommodate their family life. Hours are flexible on an ongoing basis…for example: A home office allows for employees to work while their child is at preschool in the morning and be with their child in the afternoon. Evenings are a great way to play catch up – there is never an issue as long as the job is done and in a timely manner.

Job Sharing:
Nannies on Call currently have two people job sharing in our company right now. It allows them to have peace of mind knowing that things are taken care of when the other is out of the office. It overall has been a great experience since we see how smoothly things run. This allows for both ladies to be home with their children on a part time basis and get the job done at the office.

Part time:
Depending on the position, Nannies on Call allows you the opportunity to work part time or full time. We have both types of employees and all take on the load that they feel is good for them.

Gradual Re-entry after Maternity Leave:
Although we haven’t had anyone yet go on maternity leave with our company, the flexibility is there so that great employees will want to come back.

Lactation Rooms:
Although there is no dedicated lactation room, there is ample space to book a meeting room when needed. One employee brings her baby into work just before nap time, nurses her and then has her sleeping behind her desk in a playpen while she interviewed candidates.

On-site Daycare/Information on childcare:
Working in a childcare focused company, there is a plethora of information readily available about day-cares and nannies. There is a great relationship with many of the local recreation centres that have allowed the staff to easily gather information about children’s programs and childcare in their area. If needed, staff can book a nanny in the office and have them pick their child up if there is a problem with their regular childcare situation.

Perks:
Courses are offered regularly and often for free to employees of Nannies on Call. Such as free Childsafe course, CPR/First Aid and free introduction to infant care course etc.

Job Cooperatives:
Nannies on Call has just started sharing our office space with another working mum who is a 5 elements massage therapist. She can come and go as she pleases and book appointments when it suits her. We are happy to provide a common space and lots of networking, support and social interaction with NO strings and lots and lots of flexibility.
