Personal / Life Balance Coaching
Next Level Games was an early proponent of work-life balance, long before it became a popular concept. Personal and family needs are happily accommodated and supported.
On top of the $750 per year per paramedical field (i.e. acupuncturist, dietitian, massage therapy, psychologist, etc.) our substantial extended health benefits program offers, our employees can also access confidential professional counseling through our Employee Family Assistance Program for a wide range of professional and personal matters. Assistance in parenting, teen, financial, and emotional issues are some of the many aspects of personal and life balance addressed.

Access to Emergency Childcare
Our employees receive 5 personal days and unlimited sick days which help accommodate emergencies in personal and family life. Employees have also brought their children into the office when in a bind, such as during extended school breaks, lack of childcare, etc.

Flex-time
Most employees do not come into work until 10 am. For those working in the office, employees are generally expected to be available in the office between 10 am and 4 pm, but their work day can start as early or as late as they like as long as they can be reached in those core hours as needed.
When an employee’s position and responsibilities allow, flex-time and compressed work weeks are accommodated. Exact schedules are worked out between the employee and his/her manager. Employees have taken advantage of this on a weekly basis when arranging childcare, drop-off and pick-up times.

Job Cooperatives / Job Sharing
Where the position and responsibilities allow, job sharing and working from home are accommodated.

Part-time or Contract positions
Both are available and we currently have both part-time and contract employees in our company. Part-time positions can be anything between a couple of hours a week up to 25-30 hours a week depending on what the employee hopes for and works out with his/her manager. Some part-time positions are also worked mostly from home, which allows the employee to work whatever hours are possible to fulfill his/her duties.

Gradual Re-entry after Maternity Leave
Gradual re-entry is available and accommodated as requested. So far, no mothers have requested this yet – most have chosen to come back full-time or part-time.

Lactation Rooms
Blinds are drawn in spare meeting rooms to accommodate lactating mothers. Spacious washroom counter spaces are also ideal for changing stations.

Maternity and Parental Leave Top-up
For those choosing to take EI leave, Next Level Games gives employees 80% top-up for 27 weeks. For those choosing not to take EI leave, Next Level Games give employees a two-week, 100% paid Parental Leave.

Health Benefits
Next Level Games offers its employees an amazing benefits package that rivals the best in the city. All employees, regardless of rank or position, get the top-of-the-line benefits package. Among its highlights, $750 per year per paramedical service; 100% coverage for prescription drugs and all allowable extended health benefits as dictated by the Canada Revenue Agency; 100% coverage for basic dental services; 100% vision care; $800 Health Spending Account to cover any part of the regular plan that may not be sufficient for the employee’s needs. The Employee Family Assistance Program completes the traditional health benefits program by covering some of the expenses regular benefits plans won’t cover.
On top of supplementing gym memberships at the Steve Nash Sports Club, Next Level Games also hosts regular on-site yoga/pilates classes (spouses and family members are welcome to join) along with occasional on-site massage therapy sessions, and lunch n’ learns.

Information and Access to Daycare Facilities
A New Parent Guidebook is available for employees. The guidebook presents pertinent information for new parents in an easy to understand format, along with information on how to choose the right childcare option.
